Study: Married people not always happier

If you know someone over 40 who has never been married, do not feel bad for them.

A new study shows that never-married people can be just as well-adjusted as their married counterparts. Psychologically, they often feel more in control of their lives, though emotionally they feel like they get a little less support.

Researchers say this debunks the myth that married people are always happier.

The study is published in the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships.
