Millions of Bay Area water customers may notice their tap water coming out cloudy-looking over the next couple months.

Due to work on the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir, people in the East Bay, South Bay, the Peninsula and San Francisco will be getting water from local reservoirs instead.

Tiny bubbles form when the water flow rate is increased and more air is mixed in, giving the water a cloudy look.

San Francisco Public Utilities Commission officials say it is safe to drink.
