The swimmers ranged from the enthusiastic to the downright reluctant.
"It was very cold, very cold. I can't feel my feet or my hands," said one swimmer.
In some years, the swimmers have had to break through ice to keep their tradition alive, but it was a balmy 44 degrees in London.
