VTA service planners are restructuring Route 47 as an east-west line that crosses over Interstate Highways 880 and 680 while serving long stretches of Calaveras Boulevard.
The two end points for the rerouted line are the Great Mall Transit Center and McCarthy Ranch. Route 33, which served both destinations, will be discontinued.
Also, Route 47 will no longer serve Milpitas High School, according to the VTA.
