Police investigate fatal hit-and-run after fight

DALY CITY, CA

At about 8 p.m., a fight began at a Little Caesar's Pizza restaurant near the intersection of King Drive and Callan Boulevard, Daly City police Sgt. David Mackriss said.

The fight, involving two pairs of people, moved out into the street where a SUV struck one of the combatants and killed him, Mackriss said.

Two of the people involved in the fight then got into the vehicle, which fled from the area, according to Mackriss.

Police are treating the case as a homicide because the driver of the SUV deliberately struck the victim, Mackriss said.

The two suspects who got into the SUV are described as Hispanic men in their 20s, one of whom is 6 feet tall, has light skin and a ponytail. There was no description immediately available for the driver of the vehicle, he said.

The vehicle is described as a dark-colored Cadillac Escalade or GMC Yukon with 20-inch chrome wheels, according to Mackriss.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call Daly City police at (650) 991-8119 or the anonymous tip line at (650) 873-AIMS.
