David Boyer Prince, 46, appeared in a San Jose court Friday, accused of cheating his clients out of more than $1 million.

The indictment says Prince promised investors that they would get a 5-25 percent return on their money.

Instead, the 12-count indictment says he spent at least $200,000 on himself, transferred $68,000 to a foreign bank account and spent much of the rest on day-trading.
