Cedro Ristorante Italiano on El Camino Real held a pancake breakfast Sunday morning with 100 percent of the proceeds going to two charities in Haiti.
The restaurant is owned by the family of Hillview Middle School eighth-grader Josef Nevigahto. He urged his family to help after seeing the devastation of quake-damaged Haiti on TV.
"Just seeing the images, it breaks your heart," he told ABC7. "Ii mean seriously, it's just bad. And, I thought, 'I want to do something.' I was eager to do something."
Six other Menlo Park businesses also joined the effort. They are donating a portion of Sunday's sales to the fundraiser.
