The Gorilla Foundation has set up pages for Koko on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to keep fans updated on her activities.
Koko, a lowland gorilla, communicates with humans through American Sign Language and has a vocabulary of over 1,300 words.
Koko was born at the San Francisco Zoo and lives in Woodside.
