Google changes name to 'Topeka' on April Fool's Day

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA

If you go to Google's homepage, you'll see the main logo has been replaced with "Topeka."

In March, the mayor of Topeka, Kansas annouced his city would be renamed "Google, Kansas" for a month -- hoping the stunt would convince Google to pick his city to test out an ultra-fast Internet network.

No decision has been made yet. In a joke press release Google says it's adopted the Topeka name and employees, known as Googlers, should now be called "Topekers" or "Topekans."
