A new study suggests African countries that received billions of dollars in health aid are not always using that money the way it was intended.

Researchers found some countries that got millions of dollars to fight aids have actually cut their health budgets.

The study says for every dollar received from donors, the countries are transferring as much as a $1.14 that had been intended for their health budgets and spent it on something else.

The study can be found in the journal The Lancet.
