A unique program is offering some West Contra Costa County teenagers the chance at a brighter future.

Monday morning, East Bay lawmakers announced a $1 million grant to fund a program called "Bridges to Success."

The program aims to help hundreds of deserving teens who are struggling to stay in school. It will offer them employment training over the summer and academic help during the next school year.

Officials say the training will help the teens land work in several fields including health, science and green construction.
