As of this Thursday, the city will stop sending parking officers into neighborhoods past 9:30 at night.
This ends the controversy over the city's practice last year of giving out parking tickets in some neighborhoods, while only handing out warnings in other pockets. Residents complained it was unfair, especially when fines doubled around the same time.
The parking director does not explain why the night patrols are being dropped.
