Survey shows older Americans are happier

A new study shows that people in their mid to late 50s are generally happier and less stressed than young adults in their 20s.

The Gallup phone survey of more than 340,000 Americans found the happiness gap was not due to whether participants had children in the home or whether they were married.

The research suggests older people may just be better at controlling their emotions and focus more on what they have, as opposed to what they do not have.
