Oakland City Council repeals cross-dressing ban

After more than 130 years of being banned, it is now legal to cross-dress in Oakland. The city council officially repealed the century-old law Tuesday night.

The law, first adopted in 1879, bans people from dressing "in the attire of a person of the opposite sex."

Officials said the law was never enforced.
