Trio sought in 7-Eleven robberies

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA

The first robbery was reported at 11:13 p.m. at the 7-Eleven store at 3347 Mt. Diablo Blvd. in Lafayette.

Sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee said three male suspects entered the store and displayed a handgun, then took a small amount of money and fled on foot. The store clerk was unharmed.

The second robbery was reported at 11:54 p.m. at a 7-Eleven at 1248 Boulevard Way in Walnut Creek. Lee said three suspects entered the store and displayed a handgun but fled before taking anything.

"It looks like the suspects were scared off somehow and they fled in a vehicle," Lee said.

At least one suspect wore a bandana over his face.

"Based on the descriptions by the victims, that led us to believe they're the same suspects," Lee said.
