About 300 trash collectors with Allied Waste Industries walked off the job on Wednesday in support of a strike by a dozen landfill workers.
That means little or no garbage is being collected in San Carlos, San Mateo, Hillsborough and Burlingame.
The strike ends Friday, but it could take all weekend for workers to catch up on the trash backlog.
