California budget stalemate drags on

It is day 61 of the state budget stalemate and there is no end in sight.

Party leaders say they will vote on the remaining two opposing budget proposals Tuesday but neither proposal is expected to get the two-thirds vote needed to pass.

There are no negotiations with the governor scheduled.

The state budget is now the fourth latest in the history of California.

If the impasse lasts until Friday, it will be the third latest budget on record.
