No public access or activities of any kind will be allowed in the park during the closure.
The park is expected to reopen Wednesday, but if conditions are still unsafe, the park will remain closed until the criteria are met.
Daily weather readings within the park and the availability of fire personnel -- from both Cal Fire and local fire agencies -- determine the conditions for park use.
Readings taken on Monday afternoon showed a temperature of 97 degrees, winds of less than 5 mph and a relative humidity of 16 percent.
