Santa Clara County Water District officials say if an earthquake with a magnitude greater than seven hits, the Anderson Reservoir could collapse.
The dam is situated along the Calaveras Fault and the latest findings confirm the results of earlier studies. As a precaution, dam operators will keep reservoir levels to no more than 56 percent full until the dam can be retrofitted, but right now, reservoir levels are lower than that.Anderson Dam at risk of collapsing if quake hits
