Traffic control construction begins at Oakland airport

The Oakland International Airport is broke ground on a new, environmentally friendly air traffic control tower.

The U.S. Department of Transportation's federal aviation administration joined local officials for the groundbreaking.

More than $33 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will pay for the construction. The tower will be 236 feet tall and have a 13,000 square foot base building.
