Cain to take mound for Giants in game 3 of NLCS

SAN FRANCISCO

The ballpark is all spruced up for its first league championship game in eight years. First pitch is at 1:19 this afternoon with temperatures mild and sunny -- ranging from 64-68 degrees.

Crowds are milling about near the ballpark, including a group who had painted a vintage truck in Giants colors and decorated it with team memorabilia.

Other fans are decked out in panda hats and fake beards in honor of some of the team's more colorful personalities, third baseman Pablo Sandoval and closer Brian Wilson.

The series is tied at one game apiece.

The Giants starting lineup will be Edgar Renteria at shortstop, Freddy Sanchez at second, Buster Posey catching, Pat Burrell in leftfield, Cody Ross in right, Aubrey Huff at first base, Juan Uribe at third base and Aaron Rowand in center.

Matt Cain will be on the mound for the Giants. Cole Hamels will be the starting pitcher for the Phillies.
