Investigators have determined railroad crossing gates worked properly when a Caltrain struck a man in Redwood City. The southbound train struck the man at Whipple Avenue near the El Camino Real around 10:20 a.m. Paramedics rushed the man to Stanford Medical Center and there's no word on his condition.

The train remained at the Redwood City station for a short time after the accident, and the accident delayed service in both directions for about 45 minutes.
