San Francisco city employees lose parking perk

Hundreds of San Francisco city workers are about to lose one of their perks.

For years, they have been allowed to park free of charge in metered parking spaces, even in their own vehicles.

But from now on, they will have to either feed the meters, pay the fine or buy a $900 parking permit.

The city estimates it will generate an extra $2.3 million.
