Palo Alto teen wins $20K in tech competition

PALO ALTO, Calif.

Gunn High School student Andrew Liu took fifth place in the National Siemens Competition. He developed a computer analysis program to improve the understanding of organ rejection. He also developed a way to analyze gene data, to find which parts of the body causes certain disease.

His project could have a huge influence on clinical research down the road. He says when he gets back he's going to start working on college applications.
