An environmental group randomly tested 22 $1 bills and found 21 of them carried small amounts of BPA.
There have been efforts to ban BPA in baby bottles and canned foods. The chemical also is used to make cash register receipts. The concern is those receipts a touching dollar bills and transferring the BPA.
The environmental group Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families says the chemicals from your receipts may be leaching onto paper money.
The FDA has expressed concern about BPA, but hasn't banned it.
Some studies link the chemical to cancer and diabetes.
