The DMV clerk accused of sending a judgmental letter to a transgender woman has been suspended.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the worker was placed on leave with pay back in October, when the DMV first started investigating.

Amber Yust says Thomas Dimartini sent her a letter quoting bible verses and begging her not to get a sex change after she went to the office in San Francisco to change her driver's license.

Yust has filed a formal complaint.
