The Oakland City Council voted Tuesday night to spend $750,000 toward a new A's stadium that may never be built.

The money will be used to pay for an environmental impact study at a site a few blocks south of Jack London Square.

A's owner Lew Wolff has said he has no interest in staying Oakland. Major League Baseball is looking at moving the team to San Jose.

The city says it will stop the study if a decision is made to move the team elsewhere.
