In a new version of the old favorite Monopoly-- there is no cash, cards, or dice. Instead, there is a computer in the middle of the board that issues orders and keeps track of money. It's called Monopoly Live.

To move ahead, players put their hands over their game piece and the computer tells them how many spaces to advance. They hold their hands over decals to buy or sell properties, and insert bank cards into slots to see how much money they have.

Board games compete with video games these days and Hasbro is trying to generate interest among 8 to 12 year olds.

By the way, the original version of the game will continue to be sold.
