SF Zoo closes early due to weather

The San Francisco Zoo closed at 1 p.m. on Thursday, three hours earlier than normal, because of the storms that have drenched the Bay Area.

Officials say the closure helped keepers to make sure the animals stayed safe and dry. There has been flooding at the zoo and tree limbs have cracked and fallen.

The last time the zoo was forced to close because of severe weather was in January 2010.
