SJ lawmaker, Brockovich push for water quality bill

SACRAMENTO, Calif.

Erin Brockovich joined Assemblywoman Nora Campos to announce a bill that would set standards for "hexavalent chromium" in drinking water. That chemical was the subject of the movie Erin Brockovich, about a small Central Valley town that was contaminated by the cancer-causing agent.

A recent study showed tap water in 31 cities nationwide, including San Jose, contain the chemical.
