It is now a civil case brought by the victim against seven former members of the college baseball team.
The district attorney in 2007 decided not to file criminal charges.
The incident happened at a private residence on Buena Vista Avenue in San Jose.
The jury heard graphic details Friday of what the victim claims happened, while a defense attorney raised questions about her past history and lifestyle.
The trial is expected to run a month.
