Man in critical condition after Richmond shooting

RICHMOND, Calif.

The shooting was reported at 5:58 p.m. near the intersection of Hilltop and Research drives, Richmond police Sgt. Albert Walle said.

Officers responded and found a 23-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken by medical helicopter to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek and was in critical condition as of today, Walle said.

The victim was a passenger in a car when he was shot. The driver of the vehicle was not struck by the gunfire, Walle said.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting and no suspect information was immediately available, he said.
