It had to be brought in on a freighter in pieces because it is too tall to sail under the Golden Gate Bridge. It is a sign of the beginning of San Francisco's preparations for hosting the America's Cup.
The trimaran is owned by Oracle CEO Larry Ellison. The yacht won the cup for Ellison's BMW Oracle racing team last year. It is being stored at Pier 80 and will be reassembled later.
