Big rig cleared from Highway 80 after crash

SAN FRANCISCO

A Safeway stores big rig crashed at about 8:10 p.m. on an eastbound approach to the Bay Bridge just west of First Street, CHP Officer Eric Anderson said.

The driver suffered minor lacerations to the face, Anderson said.

No other vehicles appeared to be involved in the crash.

The truck and trailer were cleared from the roadway at about 11:30 a.m., and Caltrans crews remained at the scene to clean up a fuel leak.

A Sig-alert was issued at 8:29 a.m. and will remain in effect until the fuel cleanup is finished, which is expected to last until about noon.
