New program allows drivers to park longer

Starting Monday, drivers will be able to park longer in San Francisco's Marina District as part of a pilot program called SF Park. Drivers can feed the meter for up to four hours without risking a $55 parking ticket.

The Municipal Transportation Agency will roll out the extended hours in several other neighborhoods in the next couple of weeks.

Drivers may end up paying more to park, $6 at peak times and as much as $18 an hour during special events. The prices drop at less congested times.
