San Francisco's composting program is beginning to pay environmental dividends.

According to Recology, the company that runs the program, more than 900 tons of yard waste and food scraps have been collected since it began five years ago.

In that time, they claim, they have offset greenhouse gas emissions equal to more than two years of traffic on the Bay Bridge.

They are giving the compost away this weekend.
