San Leandro High School is celebrating its new $20.8 million Arts Education Center.

The school welcomed students and community members for the center's dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting Monday afternoon. The center's crown jewel is a 550-seat theater which was built mainly with funds from Measure B, a $109 million school facilities bond passed by city voters in 2006.

It also includes a sound stage, digital photography center, computer lab and multimedia academy.
