The department is looking for people willing to work as clerks or inspectors in Richmond or Alamo. Bilingual workers who speak Spanish and English are also needed.

Applicants for the positions must be registered to vote in California. No prior experience is necessary.

Training for clerks can be completed online or applicants can attend a class that will be offered in Richmond.

Inspectors receive a $100 stipend and clerks receive an $80 stipend for working on Election Day. Other stipends range from $5 to $20 for duties such as attending class, picking up supplies, delivering ballots and providing bilingual assistance.
