Mount Diablo to consider teacher layoffs at meeting

CONCORD

The Contra Costa Times reports that school officials may also approve borrowing $40 million to cover an anticipated budget shortfall in June caused by state funding deferrals. At the same time, they are also expected to approve $9 million to make improvements at six high schools. That money will come from a district measure approved by voters.
