Peninsula teachers are rallying Friday at four high schools to protest cuts to education outlined in the state budget.

The rallies are part of the California Teachers Association "state of emergency" campaign. A larger rally is scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday at San Francisco City Hall.

More than two dozen California teachers were arrested last night at the state capitol for protesting education cuts. The protesters were given several warnings to leave the capitol building or risk arrest. The president of the California Teachers Association was arrested.
