She worked as both a private consultant and public agency planner at Alta Planning + Design and Contra Costa County Community Development Department. In these former roles she co-authored design guidelines, coordinated planning efforts, and wrote bicycle and pedestrian master plans. Ann lives in El Cerrito where she grew up and is currently the Mayor of El Cerrito through 2011. She loves working on issues related to transit-oriented development because most of the time it means she can take transit to all her meetings. Ann's work as a planner is inspired by her training in Environmental Biology and Management at UC Davis.
