The Census found that one-percent of all California households, or about 126,000 homes, are same-sex households. The number is an increase from 2000 when the Census counted 92,000 homes.
In the San Francisco Bay Area, the cities with the highest percentage of same-sex couples include Guerneville, San Francisco and Oakland.
