Who let the geeks out? It's probably no surprise, but Silicon Valley can claim the title for having the most geeks in its workforce.

After all, the National Science Foundation defines a geek as a worker with a college degree in science and engineering, or someone who works in those fields, and the San Jose-Sunnyvale region has plenty of those.

Next on the list is Boulder (Colorado), followed by Huntsville (Alabama), Framingham (Massachusetts) and Durham (North Carolina).

The San Francisco-San Mateo region has only half as many geeks as the Silicon Valley -- it's No. 19 on the list.
