Governor Jerry Brown is set to sign a bill into law that would require skiers and snowboarders under the age of 18 to wear helmets.

The legislature passed State Senator Leland Yee's bill.

It allows the police to fine parents up to $25 if their kids ski or board without a helmet.

The bill is designed to reduce the number of head injuries at ski resorts.
