The Bay Area Pet Fair and "Adapotathon" is ready for pets and their owners to attend this Saturday at 11 a.m., the day before the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
At 11:30 a.m., six members of the California Rescue Task Force 3 and their K-9 units will be honored at the fair. Organizers say 9/11 was the largest deployment of search dogs in United States' history.
Also at the fair there will be free micro-chipping and rabies shots for pets and the fair hopes to encourage pet adoption.
The fair, hosted by the Marin Humane Society and Pet Food Express, will be held at the Marin Center Fairgrounds on Civic Center Drive in San Rafael.
