Study: 'Magic' mushrooms could alter personality

A new study suggests the active ingredient in hallucinogenic mushrooms has the ability to change a person's personality with just a single dose.

Researchers at Johns Hopkins found those who took the drug in a clinical setting were more creative, empathetic and curious up to a year later.

Scientists say the drug could have therapeutic uses such as helping cancer patients handle depression and anxiety, and helping cigarette smokers overcome their addiction.
