Karen Kanani of Briarwood Elementary School Tuesday received a visit from OfficeMax with a donation of $1,000 worth of supplies every classroom needs. The fourth grade teacher was selected for her extraordinary work in the classroom and leading several after-school programs.
"Teachers on average spend about a thousand dollars of their own money to get supplies, to help you guys learn. So what office max decided to do is to come directly to the teachers to help them out," OfficeMax spokesperson Teagan Cheslack-Posta said.
Kanani is one of 1,000 teachers nationwide to receive the honor Tuesday.
