Press box lifted in place at Cal Stadium

BERKELEY, Calif.

One of the largest cranes in the country began hoisting sections of the 300-foot long press box onto four massive support towers.

When complete, the press box will sway back and forth if a quake actually hits.

"About a foot, which is similar to what you would feel in a high rise in a windstorm. So it's not anything really out of character with what we would do in a building, in a taller building anyway," said Rene Vignos, from Forell/Elsesser Engineers.
