The campaign is sponsored by the Saint James Infirmary, a clinic in San Francisco that is run by and for sex workers and their families. They are featured in photos, along with health care providers and the tagline 'Someone you know is a sex worker.'
The group behind the ad says the goal is to help humanize the industry. The ads will run on 50 Muni buses through mid-November. Two previous groups rejected the ads, saying they fail to meet community standards.
