A red-tailed hawk shot in the head with a nail gun is headed back home on Wednesday.

The hawk spent about 10 days recovering at the Wildlife Center of Silicon Valley after flying around with a nail piercing its skull for several weeks.

The group Wild Rescue captured the bird on October 21 at Golden Gate Park.

A $10,000 reward is still being offered for information leading to the conviction of the person who did it.
